Lower School have had a super time today making autumn trees on their Discovery Trays. They chose from a basket of real leaves to make trees.

Today, Year 6 started a six week sign language course as part of their diploma. They are delighted to be learning a very important life skill and are already very busy teaching all of the adults different words and phrases. The children all had a wonderful day spending their housepoints at our first ever ‘shop’! The were able to ‘buy’ things with the housepoints that they have earned over the half term. Some children chose to spend, some are saving for the bigger items (for example Friends, Technic and Harry Potter Lego sets).

Our children in Lower School LOVE spending time with their friends in Year 6 and the feeling is definitely mutual. We love to see such special friendships being forged across the year groups.

Year 1 LOVED working together to create their own ‘Team Shields’. After researching the meanings of different colours on shields, the Year 1 groups chose their colours carefully (yellow for respect, read for wealth, blue for truth, black for wisdom, green for happiness) and then created collaborative collages. Eco Club hosted our assembly this morning. They launched an appeal to collect sweet, crisp and drinks containers that otherwise would not be recyclable. We are delighted to be joining the scheme and looking forward to playing an active role in looking after our environment.

Year 1and Year 6 have really enjoyed reading together this morning. The Year 1s read their reading books to their Year 6 friends and then the Year 6s read a range of storybooks to their Year 1 buddies. There were lots of giggles and it was great to see everyone enjoying reading so much!

We are so lucky that Mr Paul cooks us delicious meals every day! What is your favourite? Roast? Katsu Curry? Nachos?

Year 6 love to go to West Hants to practice their squash skills with coaches from Dorset squash.

Following the success of our Democracy Day, today we announced our new Headboy, Headgirl and House Captains. Following speeches from the prospective candidates, everyone in the school cast their vote and played their part in voting in children to their new positions. Well done to everyone!
