On Friday 25th May 2018, we had a fabulous Sports Day. We certainly were very fortunate with the weather and it was amazing to see everybody having fun, trying their best and most of all encouraging their friends. Everyone competed well, even the parents in the new Obstacle Race, earning their houses lots of…
The Year 5 and 6 members of our choir went to sing at Meyrick Rise Retirement Home. They made the residents’ day, not only with their beautiful singing, but also by talking to them and spending a little bit of time making new friends and listening to their memories of Christmases past.
Year 6 went to the Winchester Science Museum and had a fantastic day. They watched a presentation in the planetarium on our Solar System, attended a hands-on workshop about adaptation (and pretended to be birds with different shape beaks) and then had the opportunity to experiment with all of the hands-on activities on offer. They…
The children in Kindergarten have been reading the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’. They worked with their friends in Year 6 to build bridges for the goats to cross. Not only did they all have lots of fun designing and making their bridges, but really enjoyed working together.
We (bravely!) took all of the children from KG to Year 1 rock climbing at ‘Rock Up’! It was incredible fun and so amazing to see children taking risks, challenging themselves and persevering in a safe, fun environment. The best thing of all was seeing children with very little academic confidence scaling walls so quickly…
CONGRATULATIONS YEAR 6 on an amazing set of Grammar Results. A phenomenal 93% of the children we recommended to sit the grammar test have successfully reached the criteria. Well done to you all! We are exceptionally proud of all of you.
‘Green and Groovy Day’- one of the children’s favourite days of the year! We had all sorts of wonderful green outfits and even some green hair, but of course their favourite part of the day were the cakes! Thank you to everyone who sent in cakes to be sold and especially those of you who…
The buzz around the Young Enterprise Scheme has continued to grow. It truly is amazing to see the children engage in a project which encourages them to work together, develop their independence and take risks. It is often hard as a teacher to step back and allow the children to take charge, but it is…
For the past four years, we have participated in Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day and this year we made Healthy Fruit Breakfast Wraps. It is one of my favourite days of the year as everyone gets ‘stuck in’ and all the staff and children have fun working together making their delicious treats. It really is…
What an amazing week Year 6 had! We were very fortunate with the weather and spent the whole time outside having fun with our friends. The children participated in a range of activities from Archery to Quad Biking and Kayaking to Aerial Adventures and everything in between. Operated on a ‘challenge by choice’ basis, everyone is…
