We had great fun celebrating our first ever Autumn Festival!
This is what our Year 6 children had to say:
The whole school dressed up in costume, or in Autumn colours. We had a costume parade. Kindergarten went first and the rest of the school followed. When all of the children had sat down, the teachers even had a mini parade. In the afternoon the winners of the costume competition were announced and they all got a soft toy as a prize.
All of the classes enjoyed the festive crafts. Most children either went home with a lollipop spider, a chocolatey marshmallow treat, or a hallowe’en lamp. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed making these wonderful treats and other hedgehogs, owls and autumn crafts.
All of Talbot House also had a pumpkin carving competition. Each class carved a pumpkin with their own design. It was lots of fun and very messy! Mrs Butler chose our winner. Well done Year 2!
The reason why we did all of these amazing things was to help less fortunate people in Bournemouth. We brought in food to give to our local food bank for those people who couldn’t get food any other way. Thank you for your generosity in helping with this very worthwhile cause.
Thank you to the Friends of Talbot House for making this wonderful day happen!

How lovely are the children at Talbot House School?! It was a real privilege for 3 of The Friends of Talbot House to help organise the Autumn Fair on Monday and spend the day with some of the most polite, courteous, engaged and excitable 4 to 11 year olds there could be! Without exception they carried out the craft workshops with care and diligence, helping and encouraging one another, and chattering happily as they worked. A number of the children independently came up to us throughout the day, with big smiles on their faces, to say ‘Thank you for such a lovely day!’ It was great fun for us too!
