Year 2 have really enjoyed learning about mass today. They had so much fun measuring the ingredients to make Rice Krispie cakes and learnt a lot about measuring quantities accurately too! Maths is so much fun at THPS!
Our Reception children love to read and Mrs Haworth enjoyed storytime today. One of our youngest children came to share her reading book with her and he heard a lovely story about a missing hamster called Jaws read so fluently and with great expression!
The children in Lower School love their weekly Pobble writing. They look at a picture together and then write their own story using the picture as inspiration. The children in Kindergarten are trying really hard to use their initial sounds and Reception are becoming superstars at using their phonetic knowledge to write their own sentences.
Reception and Kindergarten have been drawing their own self-portraits. They had to use mirrors to look carefully at their faces and then draw themselves. We think they did a very good job!
Year 6 had a fascinating time dissecting owl pellets and discovering what they could find out about the diet of local owls. They were amazed by what they found, especially how recognisable and complete many of the bones that they uncovered were. Real hands on learning!
Lower School enjoy taking their learning outside and this week have been learning about repeated patterns in maths. What fun learning important mathematical skills in the sun!
Inspired by the animated Charlie Mackesy adaptation, Upper School created their own pieces of artwork.
We have approximately 150 pupils in the School taught in eight classes, with each year group forming its own class.
