On Tuesday, representatives from Years 5 and 6 played in the Bournemouth Schools’ Tag Rugby tournament at Meyrick Park. A great, if very muddy, day was had by all and by all accounts the children had a wonderful time, played very well and most importantly, once again, demonstrated impeccable sportsmanship. A match report follws below, but well done to all the team – you are a real credit to THPS! And, thank you to Miss Beverley, Mr Legg and all those parents who turned out in the cold to support the team!
‘On a rather wet and windy Tuesday morning, Luca Annicchiarico, Sofia Annicchiarico, Ethan Dickens, Phoebe Isaacs, Mollie Lloyd, Max Looker, Daisy Pinner, Connor Smith and Sienna Wilkinson (from our Year 5 & Year 6 classes) represented Talbot House at this year’s Schools’ Tag Rugby tournament at Meyrick Park. During the morning session, they played against several other schools and the games were incredibly tight. The first two games were end-to-end on the try scoring front, with Talbot House missing out by just 1 try. The third game was a draw and in the fourth we got a win under our belts!
Although the rain eased up, the mud certainly didn’t. The children played well in the afternoon and managed to stay on their feet (well most of them did!). Somehow, they managed to catch and throw a rather muddy ball and score some fantastic tries, either winning or drawing the games. The children had a great time and did us all proud, finishing a creditable 5th. Well done everyone!’
